THE ARK OF US

Hand sculpted in a primal visual language, the relief is composed of individual blocks that form a fragmented whole. Hidden compartments embedded within the structure function as intimate treasure boxes where viewers can insert their own narratives and personal stories. In this way the sculpture remains open and evolving, a living archive shaped by the presence, participation and the traces of memory of its many creators. The Ark of Us honors the enduring human impulse to discover, protect and pass meaning forward. Hand sculpted in wood, built up in sand, plaster and resin. 8 feet by 10 feet.
